Picture units, arches, half rounds, circles, triangles, transoms and garden windows. Nothing moves, so you get the most glass and the thinnest frame for the opening.
Most glass, least frame
With no sash to operate the frame can be thinner, so a fixed unit puts noticeably more daylight through the same rough opening.
Odd shapes are made to order
Arches, half rounds, trapezoids and true circles are built to your measurement. There is no standard size to match.
Usually paired
A picture unit flanked by two casements or two hung windows gives you the view in the middle and the ventilation on the sides.
Impact is available here too
Fixed does not mean unprotected. Architectural shapes can be built in laminated impact glass like anything else.
