SINGLE & DOUBLE HUNG
The most common window in Central Florida.
Sashes that slide up and down. Single hung means the bottom sash moves; double hung means both do. In most houses it is the most direct swap there is.
Usually a straight swap
Most openings take a hung window without touching the opening itself, so the job is cleaner and faster than you would expect.
Single or double
Double hung costs a little more and gives you a top sash that opens, which is useful upstairs and anywhere you want cross ventilation.
Easy to clean, easy to screen
Screens sit outside on the operating half. Many double hung units tilt in so you can wash both sides standing in the room.
Block frame or flange
How we set the new window depends on whether you have block and stucco or frame construction. We tell you which at the measure, not after.
